About us

There are hundreds of books and articles written about the war. What strikes me is that there is always reference to a huge amount of details. I often have a tendency to let my attention slacken and then the book is half read on the table. But yes, if the author had kept it short, it would never have become a book.

That is why I have highligted a number of specific topics an tried to draw them up in the most concise way possible, I also consulted the internet for this, with a critical eye. After all, I was not there myself.

My blogs are not just limited to the events in Europe. In the Pacific the Americans have been fighting hard against the Japanese, with countless casualties.

My target audience is not the “die-hard” WW2 expert, who knows it much better than I do, but someone who is interested in knowing something about the war in broad strokes. These blogs, with a timeline, can be used in schools to teach the new generation what has happened in that dark period. After all, we must never forget.

The story of the First World War is a short summary and indicates that the First and Second World Wars are inextricably linked.

The blogs on the rise of the NSDAP and the Third Reich, Barbarossa, D-Day and the landings in Italy and southern France, are mainstories (read them in this order), along with the articles about the attack on Pearl Harbor, the battle for the Coral Sea, Midway and the Philippines Sea and the Great Asian Empire in the Pacific (read the in this order).

The other blogs are often an explanation of the main line stories or fit completely within the design of this website to only compile special events.

Those who cannot remember the past,

                              are condemned to repeat it

              (Georges Santayana, Oradour-sur-Glane)

Of course, the number of blogs will be expanded in the fure.
